Born in the Souther part of Italy, close to Bari on July 15th 1959. I’ve always been interested in aviation since young, practicing aero modelling and building some flying models . After the Gymnasium, in 1978 I applied to Italian Air Force as Pilot and I join the Italian Air Force Academy (Urano III course) as pilot. Enlisted in ITALIAN AIR FORCE in 1980, spent 3 years between Flight Academy and flight schools. Graduated fighter Jet Pilot in 1983. Performed a special training as Section Leader at 60Th Training Wing in Amendola FG, then immediately sent to 61st FTW in Lecce where I served as Instructor Pilot until left Air Force. Great experience as trainer in multiple topics, such as VFR, Aerobatic, IFR, Formation, Basic Fighting Maneuvers, Low Level navigations, Firing at Range,
Immediately after the Training school, I became Flight Instructor on Aermacchi MB 326 and Aermacchi MB 339. I became flight examiner and test pilot on Aermacchi series.
In the IAF I became Squadron Leader and Flight Commander. Then I joined Italian General Training Staff Headquarters as flight examiner and training supervisor. During the last period in the Air Force, I qualified privately also as Ultra light airplanes flight instructor and examiner. I was part of an aerobatic team on Tecnam P92 aeroplane and with my team, we displayed in Italy and abroad, even in official Aeronautical events and air shows. I retired in 2016 and now, as flight instructor, I continue to train students in an ATO.
As soon as I get retired from Italian Air Force, I joined a private flight school. As flight instructor, I teach in theoretical classes and practical programmes (LAPL, PPL, etc.). Meanwhile, I teach in VDS school with ultra light machines. In VDS , I’m flight instructor and flight examiner. I have endorsement for aerobatic flights, too.
